Discover Tec
It´s an experience for certified divers interested in trying out open circuit technical
equipment in controlled conditions. This section covers the conduct of the Discover
Tec experience.
Program Sequence
Discover Tec is a single dive experience that you may conduct without any required skills,

or (to allow credit toward Tec 40) with participants completing all Tec 40 Training Dive

 Tec 40
This course of the DSAT Tec Diver course is a limited, entry-level technical
diving program that bridges the gap between recreational diving and full technical deep decompression
diving. Certified Tec 40 divers are qualified to make limited decompression dives
using equipment that is marginally more extensive than that used in mainstream recreational
diving.
Program Sequence
The Tec 40 course consists of three knowledge development sections, three practical
applications sessions and four training dives. You will find these in the Knowledge
Development, Practical Application and Training Dive subsections, each with content/presentation
outlines and related standards.

 Tec 45
This course of the DSAT Tec Diver course introduces Tec 40 divers to the first
stages of full, technical deep decompression diving. Certified Tec 45 divers are qualified to make
multistop decompression dives that employ EANx and oxygen for accelerated decompression.
The expectation is that a Tec 45 diver intends to continue on in technical diving.
Accordingly, the course not only develops the knowledge and skills to make open circuit technical
dives as deep as 45 metres/145 feet, but also begins developing the knowledge and skills the diver
will need at the Tec 50 level and beyond.

The Tec 45 course consists of three knowledge development sections, three practical applications
sessions and four training dives. You will find these in the Knowledge Development,
Practical Application and Training Dive subsections, each with content/presentation outlines and
related standards.

 Tec 50
 This course of the DSAT Tec Diver course introduces Tec 45 divers to the first
stages of full technical deep decompression diving. Certified Tec 50 divers are qualified to make
multistop decompression dives using air, EANx and oxygen with up to two gases for accelerated
decompression.
The Tec 45 diver comes to the course with a strong knowledge and skill base. The Tec 50
course extends these, expanding existing skills and with an added emphasis on mission planning
and execution.

The Tec 50 course consists of two knowledge development sections, three practical applications
sessions and four training dives. You will find these in the Knowledge Development,
Practical Application and Training Dive subsections, each with content/presentation outlines and
related standards.

Tec Deep
This course its a combination of the Tec40,Tec45 and Tec50.

During the Tec Deep Diver course, you

• • Make four actual decompression dives as deep as 50 metres/165 feet
• • Use enriched air nitrox and/or oxygen for decompression
• • Use desk top decompression software to create custom dive tables and plan your dives
• • Qualify to make technical decompression dives independently
